Having had photographed 5 different cities in and outside Europe, I decided to focus on the similarities between the places, attempting to unite them into a whole. The result was an installation consisting out of 18 printed transparent sheets, with enlarged details of photographs, presented inside a glass space, in 3 rows of 6 images.
Spectators were confined to looking from the outside, since the door was locked. Because of the constantly changing daylight, the degree of transparency and reflection – the surrounding buildings reflected in the glass and interacted with the images inside as well as with their own reflections – also changed constantly.
By walking around the building and viewing the images from all sides, there was a constant change of perspective and of the image of the city as a whole, due to the new combinations of images, between the sheets themselves and in the transition from reflection to photograph.
