Site specific work consisting out of one image that uses the documentary side of photography to unite 3- and 2-dimensional space, creating an unbreakable connection between content and form.
Being part of a group show, I have photographed the staircase that led down to the exhibition space on 4 x 5” color film. The photograph is enlarged to 290 x 180 cm and placed upside-down on the right wall of the staircase.
When one descends, because of the narrowness of the space and the size of the image, one cannot escape looking at the stairs that one is walking on and seeing it represented as a ceiling.
A visual experience, which makes aware of the way space and image can function together.
