During my stay in Chisinau, I was remarkably impressed by the density of the night, partially due to lack of street lighting and industry, partially due to the limited amount of inhabitants of the city. The night undisturbed by light felt calm and secure, yet mysterious and uncontrollable.
I reacted by photographing only at night, without being able to see what I was doing. By this, I was stepping away from my own customs of composition and choice of subject. By using flash directly from the camera, I visibly uncover what is hidden, emphasize on the darkness and make my own presence known.
